Our Vision
The Mulloon Institute is a not for profit organisation set up by Antony Coote AM for the benefit of future generations - beyond our grandchildren's grandchildren. "Mi" conducts research and development focused on regenerative agriculture and regenerating the environment, both physical and social, within which agriculture operates. Mi also provides education through experiential learning on topics related to growing food. Its mission is to develop those who will lead future generations in the skills of surviving and thriving - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - using primarily the resources of nature that are available to them.
Mulloon Creek Natural Farms, which is like the "campus" for Mi, is a profitable grazing, cropping and ecosystems services enterprise, covering two farms in close proximity to each other on the Mulloon Creek, near Canberra, Australia. The total area is approximately 2330 hectares or 5750 acres, which includes approximately 730 ha (1800 ac) of native forest. Both properties are organic, using the biodynamic system of agriculture which has "A" grade certification. We run around 400 biodynamic cows and steers, and currently produce over 1 million organic genuine free range eggs per year. Our vision is to be a model of restorative agriculture, producing healthy, nutritionally dense food from happy, healthy animals using production methods that improve the planet’s life support systems.
The Mulloon Institute is
- environmentally regenerative,
- socially and spiritually supportive and financially in surplus,
- a place of learning aimed at equipping the leaders of future generations
